Before you sign. Before you settle.

A great test drive is only the beginning.

A clean interior and polished paint can make a strong first impression. An independent used-car inspection helps you look beyond the presentation and plan for ownership with clearer information.

01 / CONDITION

See beyond the listing.

Learn about observable wear, leaks, damage, warning signs, and other concerns that deserve attention before the sale.

02 / COST

Plan for the work ahead.

Separate immediate concerns from maintenance and longer-term repairs so you can consider more than the asking price.

03 / DECISION

Buy with better information.

Use clear findings to ask informed questions, discuss the price, request repairs, or keep looking for the right vehicle.

What we evaluate

A closer look at the car you want.

We tailor the inspection to the vehicle and the scope agreed before work begins. Share any known issues, service records, seller disclosures, or modifications so we can focus on the concerns that matter to you.

Inspection coverage depends on vehicle access and condition. Advanced diagnostics, disassembly, compression or leak-down testing, alignment measurement, and dyno testing are separate services when needed.

Engine & fluid leaks

Visible leaks, fluid condition, abnormal sounds, accessible belts and hoses, and signs that warrant a closer diagnosis.

Transmission & drivetrain

Operating behavior, visible leaks, accessible mounts and driveline components, with driving checks when safe and authorized.

Brakes, tires & wheels

Brake condition, tire wear, wheel damage, and visible concerns that can affect safety or your near-term ownership costs.

Steering & suspension

Accessible steering and suspension components, visible wear or damage, and symptoms such as noise, looseness, or uneven tire wear.

Cooling & A/C operation

Cooling-system condition, visible leaks, and basic climate-control operation—especially relevant to driving in Arizona.

Warnings & electronic systems

Warning lights, available diagnostic information, and basic operation of accessible controls and electrical features.

Underbody & visible condition

Accessible underbody areas for leaks, corrosion, damage, and visible signs of prior repair. This is not a collision or structural certification.

Road-test observations

Starting, shifting, braking, steering, and drivability observations when vehicle condition, seller permission, and road conditions allow.

Daily drivers & luxury vehicles

Start ownership with a clearer plan.

For a used car, SUV, or truck, the priorities are dependable operation, safety-related condition, and the maintenance or repairs that may come next.

  • Domestic, Asian, and European vehicles
  • Brakes, tires, leaks, and drivability concerns
  • Cooling and climate-control operation
  • Findings explained in plain language

Performance, classics & modified builds

Understand more than the parts list.

A modified car deserves a conversation about how it was built, how it is used, and what can be verified. Share build records and your intended use before scheduling.

  • Porsche, BMW, Audi, Mercedes-Benz and other performance vehicles
  • Muscle cars, classics, and restomods
  • Visible modifications and installation concerns
  • Separate testing options for specialized questions

Before you book

Pre-purchase inspection FAQ.

Answers to common questions about scheduling an independent vehicle inspection in Scottsdale.

How much does a pre-purchase inspection cost?

Contact us with the year, make, model, and any modifications. We will confirm pricing and the inspection scope before the appointment. Specialized vehicles or additional testing may require a separate quote.

Can the seller bring the vehicle to your shop?

Yes, if you and the seller arrange it in advance. Confirm the appointment with our team, obtain the seller’s permission, and let us know who should receive the findings. Inspections take place at our Scottsdale shop.

How long does the inspection take?

Timing depends on the vehicle, the agreed scope, and any concerns we find. Our team will confirm the expected appointment window when scheduling. Additional diagnosis requires separate approval.

Do you inspect European, luxury, and performance vehicles?

We work with domestic, Asian, and European vehicles, including luxury and performance applications. Share the exact vehicle and any modifications before booking so we can confirm suitability and prepare for the inspection.

Will I receive the findings?

We document the inspection findings and explain the condition concerns, repair priorities, and recommended next steps. Tell us if you are buying from out of town so we can plan how to review the results with you.

Is a vehicle-history report enough?

A history report and a mechanical inspection answer different questions. Bring available records and seller disclosures to the appointment; we can consider them alongside the vehicle’s observable condition. A clean history report does not establish its current mechanical condition.

Does the inspection guarantee the vehicle has no problems?

No. It reflects the accessible condition and behavior observed at the time of inspection. Hidden, internal, or intermittent issues may not appear. Disassembly, specialized testing, title verification, and formal appraisal are outside the standard scope unless separately agreed.

Can you help me understand repairs before I buy?

Yes. We explain the concerns we find and can discuss repair estimates or additional testing where appropriate. That information can help you compare the purchase price with the work the vehicle may need. The final buying decision is yours.
