Scottsdale Car Care & Speed Shop offers track-day and autocross preparation for drivers throughout Scottsdale, Phoenix, Tempe, and the surrounding Valley. Tell us about your vehicle, modifications, event, and goals so we can recommend the right scope of work.
We start with the vehicle’s condition, then discuss maintenance and setup changes. You receive clear recommendations and an estimate before approving work.
Pre-event vehicle inspection
Check agreed inspection items such as leaks, belts, hoses, battery security, wheel bearings, steering, and suspension. Bring your organizer’s current tech form so we can review its requirements with you.
Brakes and brake fluid
Evaluate pad and rotor condition, fluid service history, hoses, and signs of leakage. Discuss compatible fluid service and pad choices based on your vehicle and event demands.
Tires and wheels
Inspect tire wear and damage, wheel condition, clearance, and mounting hardware. Discuss tire suitability and a pressure-monitoring plan appropriate to your tires and use.
Performance alignment and suspension
Review alignment, ride height, and suspension condition. For suitable vehicles, discuss corner balancing and adjustments that account for both event use and street-driving needs.
Cooling and fluid checks
Review cooling-system condition, fluid levels, service history, and known temperature concerns. Plan any needed maintenance or further diagnosis before sustained track use.
Post-event inspection
Check wear and investigate new noises, vibration, leaks, or changes in braking and handling. Use your observations from the event to guide the next service or setup decision.
Autocross

Short, timed runs reward control and predictable handling. Start with a mechanically sound vehicle and a setup that supports learning.

Before you book
Common questions
Do I need a modified car?
Not necessarily. Many events accommodate eligible street cars. Confirm your vehicle and equipment requirements with the organizer, then focus on the car’s condition before deciding on upgrades.
Can I use the same setup on the street and at events?
Often, a compromise is possible. More aggressive alignment, pads, or tires can affect street wear, noise, comfort, or performance in different conditions. We discuss those tradeoffs before recommending changes.
Can you complete my event inspection form?
Send the form before booking so we can confirm the inspection scope and whether we can meet its sign-off requirements. A shop inspection does not replace any official inspection or approval required by the organizer.
Do I need a tune before a track day?
A tune is not automatically required. Mechanical health and consistent operation come first. If calibration work is appropriate for your vehicle, we can discuss ECU tuning and our in-house AWD Mustang dyno separately.
How much does track preparation cost?
Pricing depends on your vehicle, its condition, the agreed inspection scope, and any approved services or parts. Contact us with your event details for an estimate. No repairs or upgrades are included unless they are listed in your approved scope.
What should I send before my appointment?
Your vehicle details, modification list, recent service history, known concerns, event date, organizer, and current tech form. Include whether the car is also your daily driver and any class rules that affect allowable modifications.
Where can I check event preparation requirements?
Use your event organizer’s current instructions. For SCCA events, start with SCCA’s vehicle preparation guidance and confirm the specific requirements for your program and event.
